February 2011
rodwen asked: This blog is fabulous! It was so hard to find a good writer's blog where the writer actually TALKS about writing! I love this blog, and I would reblog every entry, but I'd ben here forever, and that means less time enjoying all the quotes and writerly thoughts.
From one writer to another: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

You spend time in the nooks and crannies of who they are. One person at a time you decide what you love in people. You don’t learn to write from…

I've been writing more poetry lately than anything...
And it feels like the novel is suffering. I’m neglecting it, leaving it behind.  My thinking has been so fragmented lately, fundamentally broken in some way.  And you can’t make cohesive characters and plot and storylines with thinking like this.  At least, I should say, I can’t. But this kind of thinking is seemingly perfect for poetry. At least, I should say, the poetry I tend...

I seem to be in a state of perpetual consumption.
Give me quality Drama or Comedy. I watch and laugh and cry until I fall asleep. Give me good, real Music.  I listen for hours. Give me sweet, tasty Food, and lots of it. I chew and swallow until there is none left at all. Give me pretty Faces, pretty Clothes, pretty Bodies.  I stare at their loveliness unceasingly. Give me Books. I devour them. It seems like something is missing. It seems...
